5 Things to do on Valentine's Day in the Spirit of Self-Love

Oh, here we are again! It’s that time of the year where you see happy couples on the street with their heart shaped balloons, heart shaped lollipops, heart shaped pizzas, heart shaped everything. And the rest of us, the single and alone people, have to deal with it like...

But life is too short to suffer for not having a boo. And nothing should be more important than loving yourself. So here we offer you 5 things to do in the spirit of self-love.

Travel  You don’t need to get on a plane to visit places, just take a walk though your neighborhood. You might think you know your city or town, but have you stopped to take a look at the architecture of that old building you pass by everyday? Or eaten at that weird-looking restaurant? Whether you go by yourself or with friends it’s always fun to discover new things.

Visit a coffee shop and read  You’re a busy person and might not have time to deal with all the things a relationship brings to life. And while you may need to focus a lot of your time on school or work, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have time for short sprints of selfcare. Take forty-five minutes to have your favorite latte and read a good story on like Texties!

Redecorate Get new sheets, paint your walls, get a lamp! Do whatever it takes to get you comfortable in your own space. Plus, it’s a great excuse to go to that big red store and shop those cute decorations you saw the other day.

Write a love story Let’s be real, sometimes we dream about having the perfect love life, meeting your soulmate and living happily forever. And while this dream can seem very far away, you don’t need to wait to live it. Write down your fantasy using a free writing app like Texties’ Author feature! When you write, you have the power to experience what you really want and to share that story, not only with yourself, but with others!

Cook your favorite meal Why wait to have someone to have a candlelit dinner? Put that oven and those cooking tools to good use. Then sit down, uncork a good bottle of wine, and get some candles. Even if all you make is mac’n’cheese. Hey! No shame if your favorite food is a simple thing.

Enjoy every bite!

Now you know what to do to not feel blue on Valentine’s Day or any other! Love and take care of yourself first. There’s nothing better to feel happy by your own.
